Are you sure you want to consider a listing with only a 45% approval rating from HOTWIRE customers and another that has a 1/5 from tripadvisor customers, which is remarkably bad as tripadvisor reviews go? I'd guess the 1* may be the Hillsdale Inn, which has some seriously negative/detailed reviews on tripadvisor.

... and it's more expensive than the 2.5* property.

My best guess for the 2.5* would be the Comfort Inn Airport South San Mateo.
