snoryder
Hi, great site. Just started reading threads last night. I am also using the links you provided. thanksFollowing the strategy you provided what could be a minimum $$ 2* or better preferably cps, msg, mte, mtw, TS, possibly esb or hk. will be in the room very little, no frills, just location. Very busy weekend, budget not a concern just want to get the lowest price possible since won't be using it much. Thanks in advance Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. We generally advise against bidding such a low star rating in NYC as the quality, even within the same star rating, can vary so much... you could get something that perfectly meets your needs OR you could get something that spoils an otherwise nice time away from home and you actually looking forward to the end of the weekend. You can get a general feel for rates by looking at both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS (using our BiddingHelper.com and the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab which will make searching/sorting by price a bit easier). Using the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab as an example, after completing your search click the SORT BY: PRICE button and scroll down the list until you find hotels in your zones above... the first one would be a 2* in the MSG zone for $202/nite (with no amenities and no user reviews showing) and the next one is a 4* hotel in Soho-Tribeca for $211/nite (with an 8.0/10.0 user review rating). As you can see, not much difference in price, but you know your needs and budget better then we do, so based upon the prices you're seeing at each let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment

thereuare
Was this thru PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, PRICELINE EXPRESS, a regular rate? If thru any of the 'opaque' services can you please add the details of your purchase (star rating, zone, hotel name, room rate per nite, dates of your stay)... you should still be able to view this information by going to PRICELINE / HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT >> MY TRIPS link near the top right of their home page. If it was a regular rate purchase it would be appreciated if you used our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your future non-opaque purchases. Thanks.
