Once again booked the Doubletree Guest Suites Gallery One. $81 - 9/26-9/29 - 2 adults.

Even though it's not on the beach (it's like 3 blocks), the location is great. What we like about it:

• Short walk to the beach
  
• Cheap supplies and beach toys at nearby Publix ($5 for an already inflated raft)
  
• Right next to the mall for their great happy hours
  
• At the quieter end of Ft Lauderdale (but still enough bars to make us happy)
  
• On the Sun Trolley route
  
• Large, 2 room suites with kitchen and balcony.
