Canada St Catharines-Niagara Ramada Plaza

We stayed at the Ramada Plaza Fallviews last weekend for a 2 nights stay. We paid $65/night thru Priceline. This is a small hotel, they do not have a parking lot but they will valet your car for a reasonable CAD$10/day. Some might think this is inconvinent but when you get to your room and see the view from the ceiling-to-floor windows, you will forget about everything else.

Rooms start from the 27th floor and up, so you are bound to get a room with a good view. We did not spend more $ for a falls view room but the city view was not bad at all. Also, you can go down to the 25th floor observation deck that's opened 24/7 and enjoy the view of the falls there.

Because this hotel is inside the Konica-Minolta Tower, the rooms are configured around the tower. Therefore, the rooms are smaller than what some are used to. But coming from NYC, it was not small for us at all. The view more than makes up for the size of the room. The bathroom was big considering the size of the room. There's no hi-speed internet access, and I couldn't pick up any free wi-fi signals from nearby. They have dial-up internet available but I didn't use it.

We ate breakfast at the 26th floor restaurant, they had a special breakfast buffett for CAD$8.99. It was a decent selection but that price is well worth it for the view you get while eating breakfast. You get the same view during breakfast as from the oberservation deck. :)

The next day, we ate breakfast at Denny's on Lundy's Lane thinking it was cheaper than the local Denny's but we were disappointed. Grand Slam breakfast was CAD$12.99 and we had to wait 30-45 mins for our food to come b/c the restaurant was over-crowded/under-staffed on a Sunday morning in late September. We shoulda went back to the hotel restaurant. :)
