Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (North Michigan Ave - River North) Crowne Plaza Chicago Magnificent Mile

Hi all

I am wanting to bid in a 4.5 star or above hotel for check in April 15 and check out 19 of 2014. I am not sure when I should start the bidding process. At the moment my bids are all being rejected and I don't know if I'm bidding too low (max so far is $170) or if I'm too far out to book?

Would be soo grateful for any tips you may have as this is the first time I have bid for a hotel room

There is an Electrical Engineers Conference taking place during your dates with an expected attendance of 15K.

Even with this conference i'm surprised that your bids have failed as i'm seeing 4* hotels offered on HOTWIRE around the $165 area, but more surprising i see a 4* hotel offered on PRICELINE EXPRESS (Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center) for $104/nite.

I assume this will work for your needs?

I'd really consider taking the PRICELINE Express 4* for $104 - $104 for mid-April in a year where there isn't a convention would be a good deal.

4 star would definitely work for me and my boyfriend, will have to check out that express deal via BB Priceline when my 24 hours is up. I have also had a quick scan of the 4 star hotels in the nma area and I cant see if they offer parking (as an extra would be fine).

You don't need to wait 24 hours after bidding to purchase a PRICELINE EXPRESS offer.

If you need to wait until tonite to bid i would consider just taking the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer... maybe you save a few dollars (less than $10/nite by bidding (and no assurance that your bid will be accepted)).... where as if this offer disappears you're likely looking at $40+ more per nite.
