billyp07
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on bidding for 2 rooms. Trying to stay downtown. When to bid, good starting point, looking for 4 stars. Thanks in advance! Link to comment

billyp07
Fast reply! $160.00 and there will be two adults in each room. Or we could double up and pay a little more? Which might be a better deal? And Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
At the moment you shouldn't have any problem getting a 4* hotel in the 'downtown' zones for this nite within your $160 per room budget. So the question becomes whether you prefer to go 2rooms with two people in each room or if you want to go one room and quad occupancy (which pretty much restricts you to HOTWIRE where i'm seeing what i believe to be the Millennium Knickerbocker for $169/nite quad occupancy, the InterContinental Chicago for $235/nite, Hotel Sax for $218/nite, Sofitel for $236/nite)Also, if looking to go for 2 rooms, are you looking at only the NMA area or also the Loop/Grant Park area? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. yellowdog
Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. This workaround has been successful in order to see the complete set of amenities:· use this link to search HOTWIRE· from the search results page click the offer for this hotel· on the next page click BOOK NOW (no worries about purchasing by accident since no credit card information is entered up to this point)· on the left side of the page click the 'See all amenities' linkThis should show you the full list of amenities associated with each offer. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.Yellowdog.PS. Please don't copy/paste to your thread... post only the amenity names (and not the descriptions) as it will make your post easier to read and help minimize the chance that we miss an amenity when researching your trip. AaronJB
I'm seeing what appears to be the W Lakeshore for $192 (which would be a trek to the Sax although not awful) and the Intercontinental for $177 (a bit of a walk, but certainly a more reasonable distance). I'm seeing the Amalfi for about $242.10 refundable/regular rate - certainly more expensive, but that's a couple of blocks from the Sax and offers both free breakfast and evening reception. I'm seeing the Sax for about the same price. At about the same price ($243), I'm also seeing the new 5* Langham.I'm also seeing the Omni for $221.Would any of the above be of interest?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
