I've bid up to $45 for 3* in Del Mar. Rates are from $119-$179. Should I increase my bid at my next opportunity or wait until closer to arrival?

After a couple of bids at the lower level, I got a bit nervous, so upped the price today. Bid at 40.45,50, and 53 (added Coastal as a rebid, since that area would have been OK with me. Bid accepted at $53 at the Marriott Del Mar. Bid through savingsbarn. Thanks for the help!
