AaronJB
Please first provide a follow-up for your prior Hong Kong Priceline thread (post what you decided for that stay within that thread, then reply to this thread and we would be happy to take a look at the above stay.)Additionally, I'll note that HOTWIRE would be a better choice in this instance as PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy and nowhere is that more true than in NYC. HOTWIRE ensures some form of bedding (2 beds, 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed) if you indicate 2a/2c.) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. AaronJB
Are you seeing any listings of interest on HOTWIRE? If so, please provide the full list of amenities showing, star rating, zone, price per night (in USD$, per night/before taxes/fees) I'll also note that Expedia has a coupon code for 15% off currently and there are a couple of things that may work. The new Refinery Hotel (4.5*) is $331 on a significant (45% off) sale (as it's a newer hotel and they are running an introductory offer), plus EXP15B takes 15% off = $281.35. Plus, can be cancelled (although read fine print) and two beds. That hotel has gotten a 5/5 tripadvisor rating. Please use the site's Expedia link if you decide to go that route. There's also a wide assortment of HOTWIRE listings around the low-to-mid $200's in Midtown, even when searching with 2adults/2children.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
Is this for the same dates as your Priceline NYC thread? How many adults/children are you including in this search? Also, please post only the amenity names, and not the descriptions, as it will make your post easier to read and help minimize the chance that we miss something while researching your trip. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. thereuare
Best guess for the MTE property would be One UN New York. For the Times Square property i don't believe you have included all the amenities associated with this hotel. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Please try the following:use this link to search HOTWIREfrom the search results page click the offer for this hotelon the next page click BOOK NOW (no worries about purchasing by accident since no credit card information is entered up to this point)on the left side of the page click the 'See all amenities' linkIf you follow the above, do you now see this complete set of amenities for this offer:Smoke Free Fitness Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower If this is what you're seeing best guess would be the Hotel Manhattan at Times Square. Are you trying to restrict your search to hotels with a Pool for the kids, as i don't recommend that... there are not many hotels in NYC with pools, and most (not all) of those that have one have some sort of caveat attached to them (not a great location, not poor quality, etc). You will find enough to do in NYC to keep your kids busy and having fun without a hotel pool. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. wentworth99
I called Hotwire and he said there was no guarantee on beds....but I am assuming HOTWIRE will not expect all four of us to bunk down in one big bed???W Link to comment
wentworth99
Thanks, Aaron, just looking at at it all now.Your code did not work but it was saying 20% off anyway on the Days hotel.I've got the Crowne Plaza in my system at USD 1250 for the 5 nights all taxes included....just wondering if we should save more!Thank you again,W Link to comment
thereuare
See the Hotwire Help section:Can I request a specific type of bed (e.g., king, double)? All rooms booked on Hotwire will accommodate the appropriate number of guests in each room, based on the total number of guests you provided and the number of rooms you requested. Some of our hotel partners allow you to reserve your beds (e.g., king, queen) at the time of booking. Look for this indicated in the search results. If this option is not available, please contact the property directly. While we cannot guarantee that your request will be accommodated, our hotel partners will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.(italics emphasis added)Which Crowne Plaza location is it that you have as a back-up, the Times Square location? (and please note from our Support Page we have links to the Crowne Plaza as well as most other major hotel chains and online booking agencies)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
