I'm interested in a 4* in MTE,ESB,Chelsea,MTW,CPS or MSG and would like to give a go for max room rate of $190 plus fees. I know it's a tough time, so I may end up bringing it down to 3.5* or 3*. AlwaysBooking Posted June 3, 2013 Author Report Posted June 3, 2013 I patiently worked my way through the entire suggested bid scheme (thank you for that!) but with no success. It's easier when I know I have a friend's couch as a back up. When I got to the $185 bid though, I got an offer asking me to increase my bid by $74 to $259 and there would be a 'very good' chance that a bid of that amount would be accepted. Needless to say I declined. Continued on up through $198 with no luck. I'll give it a couple of more tries before I relegate myself to the couch :)
thereuare Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 At the moment i'm guessing $200-$220 would be in the right ballpark, but hopefully rates will break in the next few days before your stay.Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? I think you can easily get a 4* hotel in one of thee zones for 6/8-6/11, then you can try to 'fill-in' the last nite closer to your stay, or lower your star rating for just the last nite or sleep in your friend's couch for just the last nite.Keep us updated and let us know what you ultimately decide to do for this stay.Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
