msdama
I found a 4* in Monterey on Hotwire for $104 and assumed it would be the Hyatt. I have stayed at the Hyatt before and didn't love it, so I instead bid 3.5* on Priceline for $89 and won.. you guessed it... the Hyatt. BetterBidding's hotel list for Priceline in California had the Hyatt as a 4*, so I guess they've downgraded it to a 3.5* now. The list should be updated, or at least updated to show that the Hyatt can be awarded for either a 3.5* or a 4*.Anyway $89 isnt bad, and although I know I will have to pay a $22 resort fee per room upon check-in, its still not a terrible deal, even if the hotel isnt stellar.Happy bidding! AaronJB
Sorry to hear that the result wasn't what you'd hoped. It looks like you were automatically upgraded by the service - that is possible at any star rating.Hopefully the hotel will have improved since your last stay.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay. thereuare
Just to further add to the above for anyone else following along...The star rating you select on PRICELINE is the minimum that you're willing to accept. PRICELINE will always attempt to upgrade you to a higher rated hotel if a higher star rated hotel is available at the bid price you placed. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
