homeschoolmom
Fairfield Inn Lexington Mount Sterling 2-star105 Stone Trace DriveSterling, Kentucky 40353Although I have overbid before, this is the first PL stay I have had to "eat." We got this dump for $30 (well, total was just over $40). It is interior corridor and looks okay on the outside; the inside is just horrible. We were given rm 316. Immediately we noticed the suffocating smoke odor in the hallway. Then it got much worse... room needed major rehabbing... extremely dirty carpet and furniture, stained bedspreads, broken glass in picture frame above bed, and so on. I gingerly peeled off the bedspread to reveal (as there were no dust ruffles/bedskirts) stained mattresses, one was ripped and had wooden framing peeking out. I immediately called downstairs to see if we could try a different room-- the answer was "no, we're sold out"; I am 99.99% sure this was a lie as the Marriott website still showed availability. I cannot believe the Marriott Corporation would allow this dirty, dangerous (would you want to sleep with broken glass hanging over your head?) dump; I haven't seen a place this bad in years, and I have stayed in a few $23 Exit Guide coupon motels, too. Do any veterans here think I have a prayer of getting PL or Marriott to refund my $$? We are Silver with about 30 nights so far this year, most of them at reg rates for business travel. thereuare
If you checked out early i would be sure to let Priceline know... maybe they will downgrade the property or offer you some type of compensation. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
homeschoolmom
Amazing customer service from Priceline!!!! I got my refund notification via e-mail today. I only called them 2 days ago. I did make sure to emphasize the broken glass as well as the extreme dirtiness and that I was willing to provide them with a copy of the receipt for the Ramada next door for that same exact night. Thanks to Joe and the Hotel Quality team. Now I hope they remove this hotel from participation with PL until its problems are remedied. I am already sending Marriott an "onion" letter hoping they will investigate and take some sort of action whether dropping their label or renovating it.Wow, I just LOVE Priceline!!!P.S. to thereuare: I forgot to mention that I bid this through savingsbarn.com, as well as a few other bids I need to post yet. Thanks for your encouragement; I wouldn't have dared to hope for such an outcome! Link to comment
