thereuare
Rates are substantially higher then you're bidding... using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at a 4* hotel in this zone thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thaalbuquerque
By "Booking.com" you can find 4 star hotel for the date in question for $ 259 per day in Santa Monica. I saw the calendar of wins that a person got a bid of $ 160 for one night in a star on August 25 in West Hollywood. I will give a improved in bids to get 160. What do you think? Link to comment

thereuare
What is the 4* available for $259?How high are you willing to bid before lowering your star rating OR considering other nearby zones at the 4* level? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. thaalbuquerque
Palihouse is for $ 254 and The Ambrose, for $ 259, both 4*. Therefore I believe that I must insist a little more in the range of 180, 190. What do you think? Link to comment
thereuare
You have some time so can wait it out and hope for lower prices in the weeks ahead, but as neither of these properties have been reported to the board thru PRICELINE's 'name your own price' service, it may not be a good basis to determine your maximum bid (unless you're willing to accept one of these hotels and are looking for at least 'x' percent discount over what you're willing to pay if booking direct)Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know how we an be of further help. thaalbuquerque
The hotels that are appearing on the list are the following prices for the chosen date (Booking.com)4 * Loews - $ 490, $ 330 Sheraton Delfina, Shore $ 3193.5 * Doubletree Suites $ 279, $ 289 The Georgian, Erwin $ 303 (Venice Beach), Marina Del Rey Marriott $ 229 (Venice Beach)I realized that the area 11 of priceline covers not only Santa Monica, but also includes Marina Del Rey.... So I may fall into a hotel relatively far from Santa Monica .... <_< So maybe not worth using the "name your own price" in this case. What do you think? I really appreciate the help! Link to comment
thereuare
The HOTWIRE zone is almost identical to the equivalent zone on PRICELINE... if you're not willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone then i wouldn't bid 'opaque' for this purchase... but unless you're willing to pay $250+ then you'll need to make a decision if the possibility of not being in the precise area that you want, is worth the trade-off in savings. If you need to be in a specific location within the zone use the exact address (or cross streets) you want to be near at MAPS and HOTELS.com as you can easily see how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating or to stay closer/further from your precise location.Let us know what you decide and how you'd like to proceed or how we can be of further help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
