kazalea
I'm looking into getting a 5 star hotel for June 16 to June 21 (Sunday to Friday) through Priceline's bidding system. Preferably I would like to stay at the Cosmopolitan. Since this is my first time using Priceline, I'm wondering what my starting bid should be for a 5 star hotel in the strip south area for those dates? I saw several members on this forum who got Cosmopolitan for really good prices, even as cheap as $49! Of course the dates are different but I would still like to get a good price if possible :) Does anyone know what would be a good number to start the bid, and what I should expect to pay? Thanks! AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. There is no guarantee as to which hotel you may get when bidding - if you bid 5* South Strip, you have to be willing to stay in any 5* in that zone (and some do not have casinos.)If you are willing to stay at any of the 5*'s in the zone, what would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. kazalea
Thanks for the quick reply! I would prefer Cosmopolitan, but I'm good with any of the 5 star hotel in the north & south strip (except Trump). I'm just mainly looking for a good price.. I've stayed at Vdara & Aria before for around $70-90 (before taxes & resort fees). Mostly I'm interested in how the other members got such a great deal on Cosmopolitan (or any of those 5 star hotels)! Is it possible for me to get under $70 (or somewhere around there) for those dates? From my experience, June seems to be a pretty cheap time to go to Vegas.. am I right? Link to comment
yellowdog
kazaleaAround $70 looks do-able, South zone looks like your best bet.Would you like help with a bidding strategy for both South and North zone (excluding Trump)? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. yellowdog
kazaleaPrices are fairly low for South zone so I would start at $50 since you have so many free zones to use.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. kazalea
Nope no luck :( Tried $55 to start last night, went up to $68 and was still rejected. (Note: I searched for June 18-21 as I would like to stay at 2 different hotels) I don't mind paying $70-$90 for Cosmoplitan or Aria (or any of the 5 star hotels in the north strip of course, cuz that would be a really good deal..), but I'm afraid I might get Vdara if I bid higher, which I don't think is worth it. I'm thinking of trying again after 24 hours, but I don't know if it'll be any different. Do you think my chances of getting Vdara are high? That's really the only thing stopping me from bidding higher.. Also, would it hurt my chances that I bid at 1am PST? I mean.. who works at that time? :S Link to comment
