Dates: Wednesday, May 15 - Saturday, May 18 or May 15 - Friday, May 17

Preferred Location: North Michigan Ave - River North Area

Secondary Location: Millennium Park, Loop - Grant Park Area

Star: 3 (would consider 2.5 for right price)

Target: Under $100 per night

Explanation: My wife and I are looking for a hotel in Chicago that meets the above criteria. We are somewhat flexible on the dates as we have a friend we can stay with for part of the trip, but we would like to have a couple nights in a hotel. We prefer to stay the Wednesday through Saturday but are willing to stay only through Friday if the Friday night is causing the price to be higher for all nights. I am new to this Priceline bidding and have learned a lot over the past two hours and implemented rebidding. The problem is that I did not keep track of my bids and have a limited bidding history. I am a little surprised that I didn't get anything at the $100 bid because I have seen some postings claiming they won a 3 star in the $60s for overlapping dates. Any comments or helpful hints would be appreciated. Thank your for your time and efforts.

Are you only interested in the Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park area, or would be the River North-NMA area be acceptable?

I think $100 or under is possible for the 5/15-17 stay (although much more likely in the River North-NMA area; maybe not in the Downtown-Loop area), but the issue with the 5/17-18 night is that one of the biggest conventions of the year starts the next day and there's going to be a lot of people coming in on the night of the 17th.

HOTWIRE is showing a 4* in the Mag Mile North-Water Tower area for $108. I think you may be able to get a 4* for $85-95.
