manniac
for 4/18 4:30pm to 4/22 11am.I looked at Hotwire though your link and the price was $7.95/day, which is an excellent price, but with taxes and fees it is $64.80.I looked at an $8 bid on Priceline and the total is only $47. Why are the fees and taxes so much more on Hotwire and should that be taken into account when bidding for a car on Priceline. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Each company can set their own rate for booking fee and base it up on rental rate, a fixed rate per day, or a combination of the two... so you do need to compare the total cost, not just the rental rate, when determining an appropriate bid amount. The difference is usually not as great as in your example above (and sometimes HOTWIRE is actually cheaper on an all-in basis), but when you get very low rental rates, things like this can happen. You may even be willing to bid $10-$11/day and still be less then the $8/day rate. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do and how it goes or if we can be of further help. manniac
I was thinking the taxes and fees were set for a certain area/place. I will have to keep an eye on that in the future. Thanks Link to comment
