mountainspring
I spent 2 nights in September at Hotel Madera near Dupont Circle in Washington DC. It's a fabulous hotel in a fabulous location. The rooms are wonderful, much better than anything in a Marriott or Hilton - plasma screen TV, funky design, great stereo (bring your CDs!), etc. The service left something to be desired - for example, the check in clerk announced, "So you paid for this through hotwire?" when I checked in. Blah. But I would stay again because the hotel itself is so wonderful. Link to comment
