Priceline Hotel: 4* Boston Metro-West (Newton - Waltham) The Westin Waltham Boston

Beginning from the PRICELINE links on BB, I bid $70 for 3.5 stars in Newton-Waltham zone HOPING to get Newton Marriott property, where my son is participating in a music festival that Sat/Sun.

PL upgraded me to 4 stars and gave me The Westin Waltham on the first try. The Marriott's discounted rate for participants is $110. I feel somewhat unlucky about this, but knew the risk. It is only 11 min. drive away, so while inconvenient, at least I am still saving $40. I know it is very difficult to try to get a specific hotel, but any advice from BB for future reference on how I may have improved my chances would be appreciated. Would starting my bid lower possibly have helped?

Superb deal for this Westin property. Sorry to hear that the result isn't as convenient as hoped, but hope it will still work out okay. There is no way to increase the odds of a particular property when bidding on PRICELINE. Bidding higher risks overbidding for the same property you would have gotten for a lower bid.
