yellow_daisy
I've been bidding for the Capitol Hill zone for a few days with no luck. I decided to drop back down to $170, 60% off average rate, adding in the White House zone not expecting to get it, but I did get The Mayflower Renaissance. I'm a little bummed now considering how much more we're paying versus the other win today. Wish I'd seen that before I bid in the White House zone. Oh well I hope this hotel is nice, the reviews seem a bit mixed.Day 14* Zone 6 - $135 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 - $140 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 - $145 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 - $150 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 - $155 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 - $160 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 + Zone 11 - $165 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 + Zone 11 + Zone 12 - $170 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 + Zone 11 + Zone 12 + Zone 14 - $180 deniedDay 24* Zone 6 - $185 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 - $190 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 - $195 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 - $200 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 - $205 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 - $210 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 + Zone 11 - $215 denied4* Zone 6 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 + Zone 5 + Zone 7 + Zone 8 + Zone 11 + Zone 12 - $220 deniedDay 34* Zone 15 - $170 Accepted Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :)Sorry to hear that the result was more expensive than hoped, but a very nice discount versus the $499 showing on Expedia. Hopefully the hotel will exceed expectations.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
yellow_daisy
It was actually less expensive than I thought it would be. I'd been stalking this board for weeks waiting for someone to bid in May. I checked in the afternoon, but didn't check again before I started bidding or I would have seen the other new May bid and adjusted my strategy. I never would have started that low in a 4* zone when I know how much the hotels are. So really I'm kicking myself for not checking again right before I bid. It's still a great deal and the hotel looks nice except for a few bad reviews so I don't think we'll be unhappy with the purchase. Link to comment
thereuare
Rather then wait for another user to take the lead, as there may or may not be another user looking to stay in this area around the same time frame, just ask for help and we can recommend a strategy for you to follow. As well, rates are date specific, so better to get advice specific to your own dates of travel then follow the lead of another user whose similar dates may or may not have similar rates.Regardless, you won for less then you expected would be possible, which is always a good outcome. :)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
