With so many hotels in the area and the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals being such a new product it's hard to see with any degree of certainty, but my guess for the 4* would be the Westin Imagine or the Renaissance Orlando At Seaworld.

For the 3.5* property are there also Restaurant and Fitness amenities in addition to those you listed above?

You can usually do a little better by bidding then you can with PRICELINE EXPRESS and/or HOTWIRE.

If you want to try bidding, which zone(s) and star level do you want to try for... and what would be your maximum bid?

I would like to stay under $80 would like a 4* or 3.5* I just don't want to get stuck in a motel.

Sorry, I forgot the zone, anywhere within 10-15 mins of Disney.. So Any of the Disney areas, or the Sea World area would be fine as well. That isn't that far either. I wish I could bid and pick because I would pick the Residence Inn.. LOVE IT!

Kgauger30,

To avoid any confusion, please go to PRICELINE using the search box on the top right of this page and let us know which zones, by PRICELINE name, you're willing to accept.

Also, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* in that you want to first bid up to your limit for a 4* and then if rejected try for a 3.5*... OR is lowest price the ultimate objective and the last expensive 3.5* or better for this trip is what you're after?

You got it, let's see if I can answer everything this time without hitting add first.. LOL!!!!

Areas:

2-Disney Maingate

3-Downtown Disney-Lake Buena Vista

11- Sea World-Int Drive-Convention center

I would pay more for a 4, but I don't want to pay more than $80 for this one night. We won't be there that long and it will be mainly to sleep :) I would LOVE to be around $50, but I don't know if I can get that or not.

I'm going to post my win for this weekend in a couple of minutes, but I just won the doubletree sea world for 45 a night before taxes- saturday to Monday - bidding with priceline. They also have shuttles to sea world and Disney. Only downside is they do tack on an extra 15 a night for parking.

Thanks for letting me know!!! :)

So to confirm... try for a 4* up to $80, if that is rejected start over at a lower amount for a 3.5*. If correct...

When bidding 4* in Orlando you have TEN re-bid zones... when bidding 3.5* you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* LBV and SW...

Bid $40, if rejeted add re-bid zone...

I do think you have a good shot at a 4* with the about $80 limit, but if rejected just post back and we'll revise with a strategy for a 3.5*.

I will let you know. After we won, we found out they tag on a $22 resort fee and $13 parking which I am NOT happy about. I think PRICELINE should have that figured into the hotel price. Now I am over what I wanted to pay by $35 AND they charge for wifi.. So I will let you know. Oh and it is double beds not queen. Oh well, live and learn right? Oh and the weather here.. is PERFECT! I only live an hour and 10 mins from Disney, but I didn't want to drive back and forth for the weekend. :)

Ok, so the resort of OK... The parking that you have to pay $13 for is TERRIBLE! When we got back that night, we had to park over 1/4 mile from the closest entrance just to get in. Horrible especially since you have to pay for it. Has alot to do with the fact Bennihanas is in the hotel. When we got there and checked in, our TV didn't work, they sent someone up to fix it, but I got to see all of the dust that was around and not cleaned. I wasn't that impressed to be honest. The pool (it was cold we didn't use it)wasn't what I would think a 4* resort would have. Just basic really. The exercise room was nice, and all the staff were very nice. Resort fees totalled $38.48 additional which if I would have known I would have gone with a 3.5 star hotel instead. It drove up my price alot more than I wanted to pay..

Plus side the beds were comfortable but only Doubles. They didn't have king sizes available. But you could get a roll away bed for $12 more dollars... NOPE!

Live and learn, and I did.. Will watch what I do for Orlando hotels and make sure my bids are at least $25 less than what I want them to be!!

Sorry to hear this property didn't live up to your expectations of a 'full class Resort'... hopefully your future wins will be more to your liking.

Two things to keep in mind for future bidding:

1) even those guests there paying 'rack rate' have to pay the resort and/or parking fees

2) when you select a star rating on PRICELINE it is the minimum that you are willing to accept, so even if you bid 3.5* your bid could be upgraded to a 4* or Resort class property. As well, we have seen resort fees at all star levels, not just the higher ones... i even think there is a Travelodge that i had read about in some area that charges a resort fee.
