Hi everyone! I am looking for a Vegas hotel on the strip for 3/23/13-3/26/13. It's for my mom's birthday and we've only been to Vegas once before. It's around Spring Break so I don't know what is a good price or not!

I found this hotel listing and I am thinking it could be the Four Seasons since there is not listing of a casino, but thought I would check in to see if it might be something else! Any thoughts? Also, is this a good deal or should I wait for something else? I want to stay on a budget, but I also want to give a great treat for my mom!!

Is the above the full list of amenities associated wit this property, as all the 5* hotels i'm seeing on HOTWIRE when searching for your dates have more amenities listed then just those above.

Yes, that was the full list. I used the link in your signature and from the forum. Once I selected the hotel, I clicked on "See All Amenities." That is why I wasn't sure what hotel this was since it wasn't similar to anything else that was listed. As a result, I thought it could be a variation of one of the other hotels. With no casino listed, my thought went to the hotels that don't have casinos.

Also, if it helps, it says that it is recommended in 90% of Hotwire Customer Reviews. Just did the search again and it is still the same amenities and $106.

Just wanted to add that I was searching in Google Chrome, and when I searched under Safari, it gave me different results. I can still see the $106 hotel on one browser, and on the other browser, there are two options for $107 that are on the South Strip, but with different amenities, or with additional information. Didn't realize that Hotwire will have different results at the same time.

The Four Seasons and the Vdara are the 'known' hotels at the 5* level in the Strip South zone... although i suspect the Mandarin Oriental could appear at any time should they ever participate with the HOTWIRE opaque program.

I'm trying to find the best deal for a nice hotel for my mom's birthday weekend. Since we haven't been to Vegas much, I was looking for something on or pretty close to the Strip (I was searching Strip-North Area and Strip-South Area). We are not looking for a party atmosphere- I was thinking that a 5 star hotel might offer that for us. I don't want to spend too much on the hotel though, since we are just sleeping there! I was thinking $106 was a pretty good deal, but I wasn't sure if I should expect prices to drop as we get closer to the date, or if prices will rise because it is around college spring break. It seems like Vegas has tons of hotel rooms to spare and things wouldn't book up, but I really don't know.

So....based on other ppl's experiences, will prices go down or should I snag this deal while I can?

ETA- We would also prefer a hotel where we could have a better chance of getting two queen beds or a king with pullout. I love my mom but I'd rather not share a bed if not necessary. I know on Hotwire you can't pick, but I was planning to call the hotel afterwards to request two queens if possible.

There is no way to know if prices will come down, or head higher, between now and your stay... it's all based upon supply/demand and how actual reservations (and cancellations) come in relative to expected reservation (and cancellations).

Your stay includes a Saturday nite which is typically one of the most expensive nites of the week in Vegas, and you also point out that it's Spring Break... given both of these aspects i think a rate anywhere near the $100 area would be very good. Could rates drop another $20 hear, yes it's possible, but rates could also move another $60+ higher. There is certainly more room for rates to move higher then for them to drop further.

As far as your needs for this stay, it's Vegas, so the party is everywhere, even the 5* hotels have a big club scene with scores of young people waiting to get in. However, although you can't avoid seeing it, it's fairly easy not to partake and stick with the fancier restaurants for dinner and such.

With all of the above noted, i wouldn't worry too much about the hotel, as all of the 5* hotels in the Strip South and Strip North zones are excellent (imo). Personally i would avoid the Strip Vicinity North zone since the mostly likely outcome there is the Trump since it's actually located slightly off strip and you're looking at a 10+ minute walk just to the North end of the trip... further if you're destination is somewhere on the southern side of the strip (although they do have scheduled shuttle service). However, the Trump is also likely a bit quieter then the strip based hotels, so perhaps it is better for your purpose this trip? (but do note that the location is not ideal if you intend to 'casino hop' to see the different properties)

Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I'm aware that our stay includes a Saturday night which is almost double in cost, but alas I don't have many vacation days from work. Perhaps we'll look at a hotel further out for the first night and move to the strip on Sunday-Tuesday. That could be a good option.

I'll keep seeing what else is out there, but if I book on Hotwire, I'll use the link and update everyone in this post.

SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is an option but depending upon how tight your budget is, i don't know if it's worth it... what would the actual savings amount to? Not sure if you're driving and/or renting a car, but if not, taxis add up quickly and you may blow a significant amount of the savings on the lesser priced hotel when you take a taxi to the 5* on the strip for the rest of your stay.

You're also only in Vegas for 3 days, and the day you stay 'off strip' you'll likely not ever go to the strip, making this one a wasted day of your vacation (or spend money on taxi to/from the strip, again eating into your savings)

Rates are pretty reasonable even with the Saturday nite included in your stay, but it comes down to price vs. convenience and what you're looking for from this stay.
