I've been trying this search in CPS, MTE, MTW, ESB, HK, MSG every once in a while for several weeks, generally starting around $100 and going up to $130 or so. Finally hit today at $125. I had a cancellable backup at the Doubletree Metropolitan; saved a total of $100 (which works out to an hourly rate of...not much).

Started all my HOTWIRE and PRICELINE searches from the links here (and there were many) -- thanks for the great resource.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.
