Priceline Hotel: 4* San Diego (Downtown and Harbor Island) Sheraton San Diego Hotel And Marina

Started off trying to get a hotel in the gaslamp quarter and began bidding at $70. It rejected my bid and asked me to change my selections. Unbeknownst to me I mistakenly added the harbor island/downtown area and changed my bid to $80. I thought changing my bid would be sufficient to allow me to rebid, again I'm new to Priceline, and it accepted it for Sheraton. Too far away for me as I need walking distance to the gaslamp quarter/downtown areas. I must've kept the box selected from when I was going through and seeing what other areas might be acceptable but seeing that it included the island portion, it was definitely not something I could risk.

Once you bid on a zone and do a rebid, it will keep that zone, you can't uncheck it, but you can add other zones. So you should've not have checked harbor island/downtown and instead only checked gaslamp zone...then do a rebid by adding zones that don't have 4 star hotels. There is the free hotel Sheraton shuttle that will take you to the airport where you can catch the bus #992 to downtown OR you can walk to the bus stop near the hotel to catch the #923 bus into downtown. The hotel is like a 5-7 minute ride to downtown. I got this info from travelers on a travel forum.
