hockman4357
I will need a rental car in Las Vegas for the week of 12/28/12-1/4/13. I am currently bidding $15 per day for an economy car but being rejected. Is the price likely to go up or get lower the closer I am to the arrival date? Link to comment

hockman4357
I clicked on both links. Priceline is the lowest at $18 per day. I am just curious relative to the likely price as the arrival date gets closer. If the tendency is for the price to get lower the closer I get to the arrival date, maybe I should be bidding lower. I'm merely attempting to pick a few experienced brains. Link to comment
thereuare
There is no telling if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your arrival date... it's all based upon how actual reservations come in relative to expectations (supply vs. demand). If the $18 rate thru PRICELINE is fully refundable i would book that and continue to try to 'better' the deal as you get closer to your stay, but note that these will be busy dates in Vegas due to New Year's Eve so you will likely end up paying higher than usual prices (ie- supply vs. demand again). For a further discussion on 'when to bid' see the related Bid Early or Close to Arrival link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what you ultimately decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help.
