lestofunk
I'll be in NYC from 16th to 21st and I've already booked a hotel on Priceline for 3 nites from 18th to 21st for $210 at W Downtown... really happy about it..I tried to extend my stay but the hotel rejected my offer... So.. now I need to book a 4* from 16t to 18th. My favourite areas are Downtown-Financial District and Chelsea. My max bid is from 230 to 260 per day and I've already tried up to 250 only in chelsea... but no way...Anyone could help me? Any suggention? I know that is a very busy week... It'd be great not to move from W Downtown....Thanks Luca Link to comment
thereuare
If you didn't receive any counter-offer when you tried to extend your stay then there is a good chance that the W Downtown has not given PRICELINE inventory for the additional nite(s) that you need (which is understandable given current rates at this property for your additional nites are priced at $450+)While i'm not sure if it will help, are you ready to add Chelsea to your bidding mix? Any other zones acceptable, as the more zones you add the more hotels you give a chance to accept your bid, which should translate to the best/lowest price possible. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lestofunk
The W actually gave me a counter-offer but the price was too high ($289)I'm ready to add Chelsea... I love Chelsea... As I said my max bid is 250/260... At what price you suggest to start?? 190?? Link to comment
thereuare
With hotel direct rates at $450+ the counter-offer of $289 is actually pretty good (although understandable that if over your budget it's a moot point). When bidding 4* in NYC you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* Chelsea...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $200, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Soho...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $200, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Chelsea and Soho...Bid $205, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $210, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $215, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $220, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $225, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $230, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Chelsea and Soho and re-bid zone 6...Bid $235, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $240, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $245, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $250, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $255, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $260Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
