Detroitemeralds
The Good The Bad The Ugly... First time user on this site and correctly picked my hotel by reading reviews, thank-you! The bad...stuck in a smoking room with two twin beds for three days with my wife and 3 year old son. Any suggestions in acquiring a non-smoking room with a queen or king bed would be welcome. Thank-you! Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :)Nice rate for this property, although sorry to hear that you were placed in a smoking room. I would call the hotel again and plead your case and you could also call HOTWIRE to see if there is anything that they can do. If that fails, try again on the day of at check-in.Can you confirm the date/s of travel for this stay so that we can update the site's Hotwire and Priceline Calendar of Wins? Thanks. Additionally, can you confirm which amenities were showing with this HOTWIRE listing? This information is available under the trip information in your HOTWIRE account.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay. thereuare
Thanks for the follow-up with the dates and amenities. If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.I'm assuming you called the hotel to find out what type of room you were assigned? Even if hotels are unwilling to commit to a room assignment change before your arrival, most hotels are willing/able to make changes at the time of check-in if 1) it's the same room class (ie- the cost for the room you want is the same as the cost for the room type you booked) and/or 2) the room type you are requesting is readily available. If you're unable to get your requests honored at check-in you could offer to pay for an upgrade to the room type you'd like... if the upgrade cost quoted is reasonable and worthwhile to you then pay it, if not, you can try countering their upgrade offer. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
