I used the PRICELINE link on this site, even though I wasn't a registered user yet.

With taxes and fees, my initial total was $93.94

My incidental fees for internet and parking were $9.95 and $20 respectively, which brought my total to $123.89.

In general, this stay got me over my desire to stay in 4* hotels in most situations. While the hotel itself was gorgeous, the incidental costs really got to me. They were even charging $0.79/page for printing! (this was a bit of a shock after staying in a 2* hotel the night before that had so many little extras - I printed my PRICELINE confirmation from the complimentary computers in the lobby for a reservation made using the complimentary internet)

Unfortunately, it was a last minute stay (booked on the 11th for a stay that evening, so we'd have a place near the airport for a flight out the next morning) so even though I had researched Priceline before, the little tips and tricks I had garnered weren't at the forefront of my mind (mostly the ones about incidental charges). On PRICELINE's express deals, I saw one for $88/night for a 4* hotel, so I used that as a gauge for bidding with the knowledge that if my last minute bid didn't go through, I could get a room for $88 or bid again with a different star category selected.

PROS: The hotel itself was gorgeous. We were given a room overlooking the pool with a partial view of the bay to the left. The room was perfectly suitable for two adults and a 2 year old with a single queen sized bed and a pack'n'play sent up after our arrival. The staff was very nice.

CONS: The hotel only has one bay of elevators, and our room, 4055, could not have been further away from them. Luckily, our 2 year old is a new walker, and likes to practice, so it gave him a nice little excursion during the afternoon we spent there. He particularly enjoyed the areas that overlooked the atrium. The self-parking is a bit of a distance away from the main entrance. We probably would have had bell services help us with our bags anyways, but it was definitely nice in this instance with the walk from the car all the way to our room being so long and a 2 year old tagging along.

Overall, it was still a very good deal for a 4* hotel and got us where we needed to go. Next time I plan on making sure I have the right information in my head before deciding on a bid. I think I'll probably be happiest in 3*. I think my husband really enjoyed the feel of the 4* hotel though, so who knows?
