Hotwire Hotel: 4* New York City (Midtown East) Helmsley New York

Hi,

Hotwire is showing 4*hotel in Mid Town East at $145.00 for one night on August 30, 2012. Amenities listed are: restaurant, business centre, high speed Internet access. My best guess is the Helmsley New York. If this is also your guess,do you know if the renovations are complete yet?

My guess for this listing would be the Helmsley. I'm not sure if renovations are done yet, but I'm guessing they're likely close to be being done as the property is scheduled to become a Westin on 10/1.

I noticed today that the property listing was cheaper, so I booked it using the HOTWIRE link, at $132, for one night - August 30-12. Very happy that property was the Helmsley New York, as we stayed there last year and found the property to be clean, comfortable and well located. Thanks for your help.

We are looking to extend our stay by one night.

I am seeing a 4* in Midtown East (one night August 31) now @184 with the following amenities:

Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-Speed Internet Access

Spa Services

Is it possible that this is the Helmsley New York? If not, which one?

(Hotwire will extend our stay by the extra night @ 226, but before taking advantage of this rate, I want to also consider the offer @ $184. I called hotel directly and best rate offered is $251)

Best guess for this MTE property would be the W New York (although confirm that you see a SPA amenity still listed for this property as i'm not currently seeing a Spa amenity listed for the 4* MTE property appearing on my own HOTWIRE search).

Please reply in this thread with whatever you decide to do for the extra nite, and if it is ultimately a different property than the Helmsley that you decide to go with, please also start a NEW TOPIC for the additional nite/hotel.

I am still seeing SPA, but price has increased slightly to $190.

In the end, decided to bid on PRICELINE for the extra night. Will post win there (4* midtown west @ $128 for Aug 31-12 - Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers). Thanks for all of your advice.
