murphy3
Back again looking for hotel for return from cruise. Would like 4* downtown so we could do some sight-seeing. Have Sheraton Wall Centre for outbound segment of our cruise and am VERY happy with it. Tried today, bid low to start at $45. By adding zones I bid up to $69. All were refused. I bid Vancouver 4* first, then added Vancouver airport, then Delta, then Surrey.Don't want to bid any higher than $80-85. Can get Associate rate for Marriott thru nephew for the Residence Inn Downtown for $113. Is Hornby a good/safe area downtown? Thanks for the help! Link to comment
thereuare
First you need to back-up.... do you think that the three zones you mentioned above are your re-bid zones? Not all of them are, so you need to understand PRICELINE RE-BIDDING first before going any furhter (or you may very well end up in an area that you don't want). Please read the above link and confirm your re-bid zones with the board. You do have three re-bid zones... but those aren't the three! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
murphy3
Thanks for pointing that out! I see that Vancouver Airport has 4*'s. I went back and rechecked my rebid zones, Delta, Langley, and Surrey is what I came up with. Glad my bids were NOT accepted. Whew! I have to be more careful. Can't rebid for 72. I have tried closing my browser and rebidding and PL won't allow me to. I have even completely turned off my computer and restarted (probably unnecessary) and I can't rebid. I'm missing something on the finer points of that technique. :) Thanks for the reminder on the rebid zones. Link to comment
thereuare
You can re-bid as follows:Select 4* Downtonw and Langley (assuming that Langley is still a re-bid zone just before you bid... you have not bid this zone yet so it won't be viewed as a duplicate)...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85.All of the above should go thru and not be viewed as duplicates.Let us know how it goes. stewps
Is Hornby a good/safe area downtown? Yes it is central and safe area of town. Link to comment
murphy3
Thank you, stewps. Figured it was with the quality of hotels there, but I also know that in Washington, DC it changes from block to block. Am really looking forward to seeing Vancouver for the first time. :) Link to comment
