akw942
Hi,I'm looking for help finding a hotel in Manhattan, all areas are fine. We'll be visiting Manhattan, Harlem and Brooklyn during the stay so possibly open to Harlem or Brooklyn for hotels. Would prefer Manhattan as it seems more central.Looking for one room to fit 3 people, two adults, one child so need double bed option.Looking for something near public transportation as we'll be in and out, in different areas. We'd prefer 3 1/2 stars but am open to less, depending on cleanliness, etc...Price range would be great near $100/night although seems like that may be much too low given what I've seen.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you,Amy Link to comment

thereuare
PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. To ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone, you can use HOTWIRE and search for 2adults/1child... although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc. If the possibility of a sofabed/rollaway being the 2nd 'bed' in the room is acceptable, if you search HOTWIRE for 2adults/1child does anything appear within your desired zones, star rating, and budget? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. akw942
Hi,Thanks for your reply. There is really nothing reasonable when searching on HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. I planned to bid for a room on PRICELINE. I tried already for $50 and $75 to see if either would take, both were rejected. I was going to try again and go up a bit but was hoping for advice before trying again.I'll look again but have been looking regularly. If anyone has tips about bidding or finding the price and star range, I'd appreciate it.Thank you. akw942
Just checked HOTWIRE. Nothing at all in my price range and star request. Link to comment
thereuare
Notice that other than airport locations there is nothing even really close... you can consider staying outside of Manhattan, lowering your star level further, increasing your budget, or waiting it out and hoping for lower prices in the days ahead (although rates would really need to drop substantially, and the triple occupancy makes it that much more difficult)Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. akw942
Thank you, everyone, for your help! I ended up booking something in Brooklyn for a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, I don't remember the details, but it worked out great. We took the train or walked to anywhere we needed to go. Sorry for not posting sooner! Link to comment
