SuntanD
Making my first trip to Fort Lauderdale and need a hotel for pre-cruise. Since I am not familiar with the zones, can you please advise which area is the closest to the cruise port? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
If you're not familiar with it, you should check out our sister site: Pre Cruise Hotels which shows a map of hotels in the area as well as the location of the pier, driving directions, etc. ;) (please share this site with fellow cruisers and/or have them request additional piers to add as the way we set up the back-end makes it very easy for us to do so)On PRICELINE the most popular zone(s) for pre-cruise stays is the Downtown zone... the southern part of the Beach zone is close too, but the issue there is that the zone goes too far North. The Airport zone(s) are also used as a less expensive alternative for times when the Downtown hotels are too expensive. What are the date(s) of your stay? What is your expected budget and star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. SuntanD
Thank you.We need a hotel for one night on Sunday, February 24th, 2013, and are hoping to get something for $60 or under in a 3.5 or 4*. It seems realistic as to what I've seen posted on the boards. Any further direction would be appreciated.Actually, we would be good with a 3* too, as I just checked the Pre Cruise Hotels Hotel site and the hotels listed in this rating are more than adequate for our needs. thereuare
Actually, we would be good with a 3* too, as I just checked the Pre Cruise Hotels Hotel site and the hotels listed in this rating are more than adequate for our needs. The inventory at Pre Cruise Hotels is not from PRICELINE, so the star rating for any given hotel there may be different then the star rating for the same hotel at PRICELINE.Rates are date specific and $60 seems a little low given current rates for your date above, but you have plenty of time to try... what do you want to try for first? A 4* up to your limit, if rejected try for a 3.5* up to your limit, if rejected try for a 3* up to your limit... or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? (or is your minimum a 3.5* based upon my comments directly above?)Is the Downtown zone the only zone you'd like to include in your bidding at this time? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. SuntanD
I'd like to try as you've noted above; 4* up to limit, if rejected a 3.5, if rejected a 3* up to my limit and the downtown and any other zones you feel would be suitable is fine with us.Thank you so much for your assistance~ Link to comment
thereuare
I would start with only downtown as it's a bit early to be adding secondary zones, even though at the moment it seems that you may need to eventually given current rates, there is plenty of time between now and your stay for rates to (hopefully) drop.In this region when bidding 4* you have FIVE re-bid zones, when bidding 3.5* you have FOUR re-bid zones, and at the 3* you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* Downtown...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Downtown...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45I would follow the above and if rejected wait 2-3 days and try again (once again using a PRICELINE link from the board and not a link from any emails PRICELINE may send informing you that you're eligible to bid again), but increase each of the 3* bidding by $5 (so you're bidding $50/$50... or you can repeat the previous 3* bid and increase by $5 (so $45/$50... $50/$55... $55/$60)Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and keep us updated on your progress. SuntanD
I wasn't successful with my bidding months ago, but now 50 days away from the cruise, it's time to start looking again. As you explained earlier for a pre-cruise hotel, besides Downtown, the airport is also another good location. Can you please advise if you are referring to the zone Airport North or just Airport? (or does it matter) I am just hoping to get something the most convenient, also keeping in mind we arrive around 7-ish the evening before and still have to stop and pick up a few things for the cruise. We are hoping for an area that would have some shopping around, if only limited.Thank you. Link to comment

thereuare
The highest star rated hotel offered in the Airport North zone is 2 stars, so that zone is not an option for your bidding if you're looking to stay at 3* and above.Current rates still look like you're $60 will not currently be enough, but if you want to give it a try you can try as follows:When bidding this region you have FIVE re-bid zones at the 4* level, FOUR re-bid zones at the 3.5* level, and ONE re-bid zones at the 3* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown and Airport...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* Downtown and Airport...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Downtown...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Airport...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Downtown and Airport...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
