Preppyg
HotwireHollywood Beach Area HotelSept 2 - Sept 4Yesterday the price was $89 and was 95% recommended in customer reviews , today it is $84 and 85% recommended in customer reviews. Why would it go down?Amenities:ResortNear beachFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerI'd like to get the Westin Diplomat and NOT the Crowne Plaza. How can I be certain? Is it better to try priceline or hotwire? And because the rates and customer review percentage is lower than the other day does that indicate that the hotel is the Crowne Plaza instead of the Diplomat? Please help ...Thank you Link to comment
Preppyg
Just tried a search in Hotwire for Hollywood Beach Area Sept 1 - Sept 2. Rate of $84 for the one night with 95% recommended customer reviews.Everything else is the same (price, location, amenities but the recommended customer review percentage was different). Why? What does that mean? Link to comment
AaronJB
The HOTWIRE customer % ratings have been seen to change from search-to-search and they are *not* a reliable indicator of a particular hotel. This would be a possible match for either the Westin or Crowne Plaza - both properties have been seen with the same core amenity set. PRICELINE wouldn't be a better choice, as you could possibly get a few different properties when bidding 4* in this zone.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Preppyg
Hi,Is there any way of determining how to be more certain that I would be getting the Westin Diplomat over the Crowne Plaza?I know you said the % recommendations are not a reliable indicator but when they change from 85% to 95% for a different day does that suggest anything?Othewrise, I might just try to book one night hopeful that I get the Westin Diplomat and if I do I could always add on the 2nd night. What do you think? thereuare
Is there any way of determining how to be more certain that I would be getting the Westin Diplomat over the Crowne Plaza?Unfortunately not.I know you said the % recommendations are not a reliable indicator but when they change from 85% to 95% for a different day does that suggest anything?Doesn't add any insight.Othewrise, I might just try to book one night hopeful that I get the Westin Diplomat and if I do I could always add on the 2nd night.Always a chance that the same hotel doesn't appear when you go to purchase the second nite, or as both hotels look the same, you could receive a different hotel for the second purchase. These are the risks when looking for a specific hotel and a deep discount. ;)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Preppyg
Thank you for the reply.I thought if you booked with HOTWIRE, you are able to add an additional night to your stay if rooms were available at the hotel? Link to comment
thereuare
Both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE have an "add a nite" feature, but not all hotels participate and allow rooms to be added in this fashion. As well, the option is not always given, and even when it is, it does not guarantee that you'll be able to add nites... you could be informed that rooms are only available at a higher rate (and you'll have the option to accept or reject) or be told that rooms are not available at the same property at any price. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Can you confirm that this was thru HOTWIRE and were the amenities the same as those in your original post? Can you compare the list in your first to those that are currently showing when viewing this purchase thru the MY ACCOUNT link at HOTWIRE's home page as this would be a new amenity combination for this property. Please use the previously requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases. Preppyg
I purchased this hotel using the link provided through HOTWIREUnfortuantely I did not write down the exact amenities right before I booked yesterday. The first list I included was from last week and does not match up 100%. I would use this list as a basis. After booking amenities: (taken from my HOTWIRE trip details on the account page)ResortNear BeachFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerAny suggestions on how to not end up with a badly located room??
