I am looking for a hotel room in NYC for the dates of Aug 31 to Sept 3, 2012. Would like a 3 to 3.5 star hotel under $200 per night. WOuld like to be in Times Square, midtown east or west area but not limited to that area. Would like to be near a subway. Thank you in advance!

Would like a 3 to 3.5 star hotel under $200 per night.

Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?

Would like to be near a subway.

How far of a walk do you consider 'near'? Is a 15 minute walk to the subway close enough? What are your thoughts about extremely small rooms... would such a room be acceptable?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and please click each of these links before replying)

Thanks.

Least Exensive between 3 and 3.5 star is fine!

Don't need a huge room but would like 2 beds, I know there is no guarantee! 15 minute walk is fine.

Just to clarify/confirm some of the above...

Did you only want to bid MTE, MTW, and TS to begin... or include other areas which are generally considered centrally located?

If including other areas, at 3.5* and under the CPS zone contains the Hudson Hotel which has notoriously small rooms which only have one bed (and it takes up most of the room). While chances of two beds in the room at most NYC hotels low, if you land this property it will be nearly impossible (without a negotiated paid upgrade fee)... should this zone therefore not be included in your bidding? (assuming you do want to include other zones besides the three above)

Lastly, i don't think your budget should be an issue, in fact you might even be able to get a 4* hotel one of the zones above at less than your $200/nite limit... but to confirm, you prefer the least expensive 3* or better, correct?

Please confirm the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

The above may (likely) prove to be too low, but with time before your stay, i would at least try one round of lowballing to begin.

Any questions feel free to ask.
