coharahawk
Tough weekend for hotels in Downtown Chicago. Tried on PRICELINE for quite awhile at much higher rates than usual for Loop area. I've also been trolling HOTWIRE for several days. Used Better Bidding links for both. Finally settled on Chicago West Loop 3.5* at $116 with following amenities:Amenities Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Accessible for the blindAccessible for the deaf Accessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in showerEnded up winning:Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago733 West Madison,Chicago, IL, 60661(312) 829-5000I took a gamble and lost, as this is about the furthest possible hotel in the Loop region from Millennium Park (the desired destination). Although it is much lower priced than closer hotels. Link to comment

coharahawk
About 1.5 miles to the intersection of Wacker and Michigan Ave according to Google Maps. Depends on what you consider far. Link to comment

Alex in MI
However, if you don't want to walk, the #20 bus (see Transit Chicago) will take you right to Millenium Park. The hotel also is right by Greektown and is walking distance from The French Market plus a selection of great restaurants in the West Loop area (Girl and the Goat, The Publican, Avec, etc.). It's also about 2/3 mile up Halstead to the terrific Piccolo Sogno. Link to comment
