Mauibound
This is a great forum. I got a full size car from Hertz at John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County California for $16 per day for 4 days starting on August 12th. Before I got that, I tried for a luxury car for the heck of it for $25 per day and was rejected. Link to comment

Mauibound
I've just discovered that my wife would like us to pick-up the car one day earlier. I'm wondering if I should just try to call Hertz and see if they'll extend the rate one day earlier (which I'd be shocked if they did) or if I should try to bid for the extra day on Priceline again and then just explain that it's all just me? Do you think that would fly? Link to comment
thereuare
You can try calling Hertz, but the rate you pay will likely be the prevailing rate and not the amount of your bid (i would try to negotiate it if it's a large difference). Mauibound
Just an update for you all. I called both Hertz and Priceline. Hertz told me they couldn't make any changes to a Priceline reservation and couldn't book the car for one extra day and link it up with my existing reservation. Priceline told me that once you book it you can't add any additional days through them. Priceline said my best option would be to just show up at the counter a day early and accept whatever price they can give me for that extra day. So...no big deal. I'm going to leave the reservation the way it is. Why ruin a great thing. I don't NEED the car the day before anyway. Link to comment
