Luckyinla
I admit I have been unsuccessful in my bidding on Priceline for a Washington DC Hotel, so I checked out Hotwire for the first time. I am traveling with my husband & 17 year old daughter on college trip and need 2 rooms for June 16 - June 19. I came across a 4.5 star Dupont Circle/National Zoo area hotel for $141! The amenities listed are: free internet, boutique hotel, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, high-speed internet access. spa services. It is recommended by 75%. Am I correct in guessing it's the Fairfax at Embassy Row??? If so, I think I'll jump on it.Thanks in advance for any help.I just noticed that The Madison better matches the amenities. I had to go back several months to see where these two hotels showed up. Link to comment
Luckyinla
Never mind! Because of this new "low" price on Hotwire, I went to Priceline (through your link of course) and bid successfully. I will post my results in the Priceline section. Link to comment
Luckyinla
I have bid daily for about 2 weeks for this hotel stay. I noticed today that there was a lowered price on a "blind" hotel on Hotwire. While trying to determine which property it was, I decided to bid on Priceline, knowing I had a better chance of getting my bid accepted today. (The Hotwire price was $141/night, and I was fairly certain it was this hotel or possibly the Fairfax at Embassy Row.) I bid for 2 rooms, and was accepted at $128 per night per room.I used your link to PRICELINE, as always. Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :)Terrific deal for this DC property and hope you are looking forward to your stay. My guess is that the HOTWIRE property was also the Madison, so this is a nice further discount. Can you confirm the zone of the winning bid? This property was last reported in the White House-Downtown zone (the thread title had the Dupont Circle zone listed)? Thanks.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
Luckyinla
Yes, it is still the White House-Downtown zone on PRICELINE. (It is Dupont Circle on HOTWIRE.) Link to comment
