2- 4* Times Square - Theatre District area hotel for $239.00

The Central Park property is a match for the Empire Hotel while the Times Square property is a match for the Doubletree, so these would be my best guess for each.

These are very different hotels with different personalities... if you like boutique-y hotels, small rooms, and a 'trendy' atmosphere then the Empire Hotel is a good fit; the Doubletree is more 'standard hotel' but is an all-suite property (the extra space is welcomed) in the middle of the tourist area. The Doubleree has better access to multiple subway lines and gets great reviews, and of the two i would probably lean towards this one, but for somebody who is looking for 'velvet-rope-trendy' the Empire i wouldn't have any problem recommending the Empire (it just wouldn't be my choice/style)

  • 5 weeks later...

I need help with bidding strategy for 4* hotel in NY. I will be staying from May 2nd to May 6th.

I'm willing to stay in: Central Park South, Chelsea, Empire State Building, Midtown East, Midtown West, Soho & Times Square.

I have tried using the SEVEN re-bid zones: started at $170 and finished at $215 with no success.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID and/or staying outside of the city (but easy commute in) an option?

You could get a nice 4* hotel in Jersey City/Hoboken for ~$165-$185 for the first 2 nites of your stay, then a 4* hotel in Manhattan for ~$200/nite for the last 2 nites of your stay.

Thoughts?

This property has not yet been reported to the board... bud i'd be very cautious of a 2* rated hotel in this zone.

Congratulations on your success!

Hope you're pleased with the deal you received at this property during this very busy (and expensive) time of year.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
