irm
Hellow guys, i have two questions:1) can you ID this 4* hotel in French quarter. it came up at $110.00 a night for 3 adults and $85 for 2 adults and 1 child. Amenities are:Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access 2) I am looking for a room for 3 people, preferably 3 separate beds. Which gives me a better chance of getting 3 separate beds? Searching by 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. I did notice that if I search for 2 adults and 1 child i get a cheaper price. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Best guess is that this is the Westin New Orleans at Canal Place. The only way you're likely to find 3 beds in a room is if you're including a pullout sofabed in the figure, but even a pullout sofabed and two other beds may be somewhat rare... it's certainly not something i would expect. If the price doesn't go up when adding another child (making it quad occupancy) i would book that way just in the hopes of something a bit more spacious, but odds favor it would be the same room as when booking for triple occupancy. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. irm
Thanks. The wierdest thing is that if i search by 2 adults and 2 children, i get the same price as 2 adults and 1 child ($83.00). but if it is 3 adults, then it is $110.00/night.i wonder what is the discrepancy. Link to comment
thereuare
Many hotels allow kids to stay for free... but charge extra for the 3rd or 4th adult in the room. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. irm
Thanks for your reply. To avoid problems we will search for 3 adults and 1 child (just to see if we are lucky in getting 3 separate beds or a larger room.) NOw I have another question:We are driving to New Orleans, thus need parking for the car. I have been doing the math for the possible 4* hotels, and eventhough the hotels are quite inexpensive, the parking rate is outrageous. About 20/day to self park and 32/day for valet parking. Some hotels don't even have self parking. So, when you add everything, the price might end up being the same as in a regular hotel. So, my question is:- Any suggestions on where to park the car inexpensibly? We are targeting hotels downtown or the French Quarter.- Are there any hotwire hotels (perhaps *3) that offer free parking? I noticed that some 3* hotels in hotwire were at the same price as the 4* hotels. Perhaps the 3* have free parking? Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
I don't think you're going to find any hotels that include parking in this area (and even if you did, there would be no way to bid specifically on only that hotel). You can almost always find cheaper parking separate from the hotel. I don't know what Harrah's casino charges but that would be one place to use as a comparison, as well as the mall at One Canal Place (i think they have parking there, but not certain). Assuming you don't need your car for the three days, drop off your bags at the hotel, then the further you drive outside of the French Quarter and Downtown the cheaper parking will be... if you get 'really' far out you can even take the trolley or local bus back to the area. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
