Hello isa,

Usually this time of the year is starting to be more busy due to a good weather in NY. If you are set on the downtown financial district and the price of $157 is good for you i would go ahead and make the reservation in HOTWIRE.

If you are looking for a lower price, which i am not sure that you will be able to get on those dates then you should keep trying PRICELINE. Just remember that the price you see now on HOTWIRE will not stay forever and by forever i mean it can change quickly and tomorrow you wont see it anymore.

Please let us know the amenities showing with the 4* listing and we would be happy to try to ID - not all 4*'s on HOTWIRE may be 4*'s on PRICELINE (it may be a 4* on HOTWIRE, but 3.5* on PRICELINE), and the 4* on HOTWIRE may not be an indicator of what a 4* may take on PRICELINE in the Downtown/Soho zone.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

This would be a match for the World Center or Club Quarters World Trade, which are at the 3.5* level on PRICELINE. Unfortunately, the $157 on HOTWIRE - if the World Center or CQ, and I think it's one of either - would not reflect what it may take to get a 4* on PRICELINE. Have you bid up to $185 in Downtown-FD and Soho, as well?

Please let us know the results if you give it another try - and hopefully a hotel will accept today. If not, I'm guessing you're possibly looking at around $195-205 for a 4* in the downtown-FD area and probably around $215-235 in Midtown (MW, ME, CPS, TS)

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches, and please let us know if you have any questions.

After thinking over, I didn't go with the $157 deal on HOTWIRE, and still came back to bid on PRICELINE.

Tried from 130 all the way up to 210 ... still nothing ...

also used a 24hour reward $($5/night) that PRICELINE sent to me.

215(my bid) +$5 = 220 , still nothing ...

but it came back offering me to raise my price to $266. I declined. and thought i would give it a last shot

220(my bid) +$5 = 225 ... ... FINALLY... got the "your hotel deal is in the bag" message. :P

not a super good price, but i'm pretty happy with the result especially around this time of the year.

PS: does anybody know if this hotel is pretty convenient for everything ? gosh, first time to go to nyc, a bit nervous~~ :D

Congrats on your win.

This is a good hotel and the price is not bad for this time of the year.

About your question, you are 5 minutes walk from a subway station that can take you uptown. It's around 15-20 minutes subway ride from your place to Times Sq.

Enjoy your stay in NY.

Congratulations on your success!

Nice deal for this property, which is not far from transit. New York City is certainly wonderful, and while transit is nearby, I know when I've gone there I've ended up walking much farther than I've expected because it's just fun to explore the city - there's so many great little NYC-specific shops and restaurants throughout various neighborhoods. The one sight that I continually recommend is the Intrepid Air/Space Museum - it's a wonderful museum and standing on the deck of an aircraft carrier and looking at the views in both directions is pretty neat. It's not something that's that commonly mentioned, but I think it's a memorable stop.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
