CheleL
I searched the forum & only saw 1 winning bid for Anaheim North. We would like to stay in Anaheim North since most of the hotels in the hotels list are somewhat walking distance (15 min). Looks like most winning bids open up their bid to Anaheim North AND South & they get the hotel for Anaheim South. Is it because bidders only want Anaheim South? I've won Red Lion Inn before but it looks like Crown Plaza & Marriott are the winners for Anaheim South more recently. Confused since they split it into Anaheim North vs South. Any thoughts? Thanks! thereuare
For most users each of these zones may equally suit their needs and they therefore bid them together. If the South zone is usually cheaper than the North zone, then it makes sense that there would be more wins in the South. Another factor is that although the North zone does offer 3.5* bidding, we have not yet seen a hotel won at that star rating in this zone... the 3.5* hotel in this zone may not frequently offer inventory to PRICELINE OR what they offer may not be discounted very much. Therefore users who are looking for 3.5* or higher rated hotels may have the South zone at their own 'real' option.If/when you want to move forward let us know the details of your trip (desired star rating, zone, dates, maximum bid, etc) and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.PS- please follow-up your previous Priceline Yosemite thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip. CheleL
Need help on Bidding Strategy in Anaheim North. 3* and above would be acceptableOnly want Anaheim North at this time. Red Lion would be acceptable, but it is now in Anaheim South.Dates: May 6-May 14 (Would the Saturday stayover be a problem)? Our dates are somewhat flexible for a 7 night stay. When should I start bidding? Is it too early to start? Thanks for any help & when I am ready to bid I will use the links. Link to comment

thereuare
So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid for a 3* hotel in the Anaheim North zone? Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. CheleL
The maximum we're willing to pay is $65 for either 3.5 or 3 *. yes, willing to pay more for 3.5, but up to our max $65. Link to comment
thereuare
When bidding 3.5* in the Orange County region you have FOUR re-bid zones... at the 3* level there are NO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I'd begin with the following:Select 3.5* Anaheim North...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65You can try the above for 5/6-5/13, if that is rejected close the browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE and repeat for 5/7-5/14. (i believe this covers your possible dates for a 7 nite stay within the date range you indicated) If so, you can close the browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE and try:Select 3* Anaheim North...Bid $45Try this for 5/6-5/13, if that is rejected re-try for 5/7-5/14Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
