Next best alternative was the Tropicana 4* at $128 on Hotwire (price line up to $120 4* south was unsuccessful) but we decided to spank it up in the Aria instead.

You could have booked Mandalay Bay directly on their website for $795 including taxes. Or you could have upgraded and stayed at "THE Hotel" by Mandalay Bay and get a 725 foot suite (with 2 beds) for only $1,117 total.

The OP paid $759 which is cheaper than both the rates you quoted above and the Aria is higher rated and better located, imo.

I'm staying at Aria next week for 3 nights...i'll let you know how nice it is. I've gotten mixed reviews.
