cesco.g
The "beginner's lesson" learned: :) Checked Travelocity, found 3-star Sheraton at $ 99, 2- and 1-stars in the $ 70s. Ok. go on priceline and it says average rate for a 3-star $ 124. Ok, I go for $ 69 and get accepted. Now I find this forum at $ 36, further checking I find that there is a government rate at $ 82! Woa, I am in way too high! As a first rule I think you don't want to bid more than 30% of what PL shows as average rate.Well, I guess there is no remedy now! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! There is no rule steadfast rule as to how much below prevailing rates yo should bid, each area (and hotel within the area) is different. There are some zones in which 30% off would be an overbid, while others 30% still gives you a very low chance of success. Fortunatley you've found this forum and can improve upon your bidding going forward. :) Can you please include the date of your stay. Thanks! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
