pn1410
The South Strip hotel is now down to $76 a night. Its a 4 star, checking out on saturday the 24th Link to comment
thereuare
Assuming both of the properties above are 4* rated, the Strip South property is a match for the Tropicana and the Strip North property is a match for Treasure Island, so that would be my best guess for each. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. pn1410
Thanks. Do you guys feel to get the best deal, you should hotwire a hotel each day you are there, rather than book the whole trip at once? I feel like the closer you get to check in date, the prices seem to drop. Do you agree? Link to comment
thereuare
I feel like the closer you get to check in date, the prices seem to drop. Do you agree? We hear this theory a lot but i don't necessarily totally agree with it. Hotels can only bring in so much additional business by lowering rates at the very last minute as most guests will already have their travel arrangements booked. Even if a 4* hotel lowered their rates to 'just over cost' they still wouldn't likely sell-out all their available rooms since there are so few people who would be aware of the extremely low price, even fewer who will be able to pick up and go at the last minute to take advantage of it, and hotels also don't want to 'train' people to wait until the very last minute to book (thus one of the reasons for early booking discounts which helps them manage their inventory/pricing better). As well, while you're only focused on the cost for one/two nites in the near future, hotels are constantly trying to manage rates/revenue for the entire upcoming year. By the time day of arrival comes hotels know they can do very little to influence additional revenue for that day and are more focused on the days/weeks/months ahead (as changes they make today can have a dramatic effect on revenue/rooms booked for months from now). With the above noted, does it pay to be patient if rates are high and you're 9 months before arrival... YES! However, i see little benefit/difference in locking in a deal 1-2 weeks before your stay vs. waiting for the day of arrival (in fact it can be a detriment if you're trying to lowball and your bids are rejected, you don't have additional time/days to try again and may need to bid higher than necessary on your last bids)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
