IUdaughter
I am hoping to bid for a hotel in the Universal area. I would prefer a 3 1/2* or higher. Any suggestions on where to begin my bidding or HOW to bid? I'm vacationing on 3/24-3/26. Thanks.I'm looking in the universal area or the sea world area. I will have a car so that doesn't seem like a far drive. I didn't want to spend over $100/nt. Do you think that's possible? Link to comment

thereuare
Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip? What is your maximum bid for this stay? SeaWorld and Universal are two different zones on PRICELINE, i assume either of these are acceptable? Please let us know the information above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. IUdaughter
My goal is to stay "around" $100 for either a 3.5 or 4*. It doesn't matter. We have a car rental, so it seems that the Sea World area won't be too far off. There seems to be better deals given in that area, that's why I suggested that area to bid on as well. Link to comment

It doesn't matter. This is a personal preference in terms of what is more important to you... do you prefer a little nicer hotel for a little more money OR prefer a little lesser hotel for less money?Should our suggested strategy first try up to your limit for a 4* hotel, then if rejected try at for a 3.5* property... OR do you prefer the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip?Let us know your preference and we'll suggest a strategy to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. IUdaughter
Hey, I'm on vacation, so let's go with a little more money for a nicer hotel! :) Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level you have TEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Universal and SeaWorld...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. IUdaughter
Ugh...well that didn't work. I just went in and chose only a 4*. I started at all the areas that weren't even close to having a 4* hotel! Then went and started rebidding zones for those that had 3 1/2 and below. I ended up in a zone that says there are no 4* hotels!!!! How did that happen? Looks like a nice hotel, but a little further from where I wanted to be and I'm sure I paid more than what they would have accepted since I was already at $85! I guess the Hilton Orlando Resort Lake Buena Vista Resort is considered a 4* even though Priceline shows none in the downtown disney area??? Link to comment
thereuare
Sorry to hear you received a hotel in a zone that you weren't expecting. The 'problem' is that while the LBV-Downtown zone doesn't have any 4* hotels... it does contain 'Resort' class properties. A re-bid zones is one which only has zones lower than the one that you are bidding; what happened here is that your 3.5* bid was upgraded to a Resort class property.Thank you for sharing your win with the board... hopefully you'll still be able to make this work for your needs and will enjoy your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. IUdaughter
My 4* option was upgraded. So, really I didn't have 10 rebid zones. People need to be made aware of this possibility. I learn something new every time I use this.Thanks. Link to comment
