fturpin
Could someone help me identify this hotel, please? 05/25 - 05/27St Louis (Downtown)$57 per night90% recommendedHere are the amenities:Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-Speed Internet AccessAlso, thoughts on convenience to Busch Stadium and the parking situation for this hotel?I'm thinking about doing a road trip out to St Louis for a few Cardinals games and am hoping for a good combination of cheap and convenient to the ballpark. Thank you very much! I enjoy this site and plan to use it to book this trip..... Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Both the Crowne Plaza Downtown and the Sheraton City Center have been seen with this amenity set, BUT at the 3.5* level.. it's possible that one of these has been upgraded since last reported to the board, and that would be a guess. However, i will also point out the feedback provided by previous guests to HOTWIRE about this hotel... while the location may be very good, it is somewhat lacking in a lot of the other criteria (condition of the hotel, quality of service, comfort, etc) and with only 65% of previous guests recommending this property, i wouldn't expect too much from this one. What is your maximum budget for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. fturpin
Thank you for the help! I really don't have a budget, I just want to spend the least amount possible on a hotel room. I also prefer a safe neighborhood and decent location, but I'm not the kind of person that cares about the state of the wallpaper, etc. I'm hoping to do 2 nights in St. Louis, watch a couple baseball games, see the Arch, and see a few other things as time permits. I see the 65% recommendation rating and a slight change in price than what I was seeing this morning, so I'm wondering if it's now a different hotel? Also, do you think it's better to book a good price ASAP or do prices generally get a little better as the vacation time approaches? I know something like that is never 100%, but what is the general approach, do you think?Thank you very much! Link to comment
AaronJB
Purchase timing is discussed in greater detail in the FAQ; St Louis is generally pretty reasonable in terms of hotel rates, but in the Spring if there's baseball games going on and nicer weather, there will be demand that I would certainly believe would make the upside on prices a greater possibility to some degree than the downside.I'm seeing a 3* in Downtown STL w/Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-Speed Internet Accessand a 90% approval rating, although I would not go on the HOTWIRE customer %, as it has been seen to change from search-to-search and I don't consider it a strongly/consistently reliable indicator of a particular property.Unfortunately, this listing hasn't been reported to the board - there is no tripadvisor rating showing on the detail page of the listing, as that would possibly be more helpful in narrowing down hotel. Possibly a downgraded Crowne Plaza, or the Holiday Inn (or Millennium, which would be what I might think with a 65% approval rating) with a slightly different amenity set?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. fturpin
Thank you all for the help. I didn't end up being able to go on this trip, but I did wind up going later in the season. Someone else got the room and didn't go through Hotwire. Link to comment
