I have tried the following

4* 150-200

3,5* 150-200

i don't want to go down to 2,5* as it looks like that these hotels stink :-)

any advice? is it too early?

This is notoriously a very difficult PRICELINE zone... what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? (try MAPS and HOTELS.com to easily get a visual of the area and sort by star rating and/or price)

I found the Marriott Beachside and the Doubletree for 180€ (240USD Tax incl.) but these are non-refundable rates. I have reserved the Doubletree for 240 USD (our corp. rate incl. tax) which can be cancelled 72h before.

As noted above, this is notoriously tough PRICELINE zone... there are not as many hotels in the area to satisfy the usual demand, so there is often little reason for the hotels to offer deeply discounted inventory to the opaque suppliers if they can sell most rooms on their own at full price. This area may also be more prone to 'walk-in' business so the hotels prefer to hold onto inventory even when closer to arrival date. Taking all of these factors into consideration, even when inventory is given to the opaque suppliers, it may not be as deeply discounted as you're used to seeing in other parts of the country (or world).

I struggled with a Key West stay about a year ago. Finally tried the 2.5*s. I got the Fairfield Inn, and it worked quite nicely. Comfortable room, gorgeous swimming area, great assortment out for breakfast, free parking.

I can't speak for the other ones you could get by bidding, but if you haven't done it already, you might see if anyone has reviewed them here.

Thanks Romelle. problem is that in the same group there is this lexington hotel which is the worst on tripadvisor.
