Tried the past week to book on Priceline a 4* hotel in Chicago from 4/11 to 4/14 (preferably in the North River area, but willing to stay in the Loop or Lincoln Park). Started bidding at $55, but now I am up to $84 (even with dropping the rating down to 3.5*). I realize that rates begin to increase in April for spring, but how high will they increase? Should I be expecting to pay over or under $100?

Thank you for your help.

I'd suggest not considering Lincoln Park, as there are very few hotels in that zone (primarily a Best Western and Days Inn, along with a few small independent boutiques.) Really nice area and worth visiting, but not somewhere I'd look at in terms of staying.

In terms of bidding, as noted above, HOTWIRE has a few options not far above where you've bid. However, I'm guessing the 4* NMA-WT-GC on HOTWIRE may be the Allerton, which was last reported at the 3.5* level in the NMA-River North area on PRICELINE.

I'm seeing a 4* Mag Mile w/Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business (my guess would be the Sheraton)

I'm seeing a 4* NMA-WT-GC w/Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. This could be a few different possibilities, such as the Westin Michigan Ave, Affinia and Allerton, but my guess is that this is the Allerton.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
