Might this be the Desert Rose resort? If you think it is, would you recommend?

This does match previous reports for the Desert Rose and that would also be my best guess for this one.

While this property does get good reviews, ideally in Vegas you want to be directly on the Strip, especially if it's your first time in the city. Have you been to Las Vegas before or is this your first time? How flexible is your budget?

It is our first time in Las Vegas so we are "in the dark" as far as what location is best. I have read alot of reviews but I would really appreciate any input for our dates for the best hotel in a good location for the money. We would like to stay around $100 per night including taxes/fees. But if there was an exceptional hotel for a bit higher, then we would certainly consider that too. We will have our car, so we will need a hotel with parking. We will definitely use the betterbidding links to search and make our purchase. Your recommendations would be appreciated! Thank you, Vicki

I'd suggest trying to stay on-strip as it will be more convenient and you're more likely to get an 'over the top' hotel that makes Vegas what it is.

$100 all-in may be tough, but if you're willing to bid up to $100 i think you can get a 5* hotel on the Strip. However, you have to keep in mind that most Vegas hotels at this level charge ~$20 'resort fee' and hotel tax in Vegas is ~10%-12%. Perhaps trying up to $90 for a 5* hotel... would that be worth stretching your budget or do you prefer to try for something different at a lower price point?

Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there.

Would Las Vegas Strip - South or Las Vegas Strip North be better?

If you think we would be better off bidding on Priceline, I would try $90-100 for a 5 star hotel with your guidance.

For our dates (5/8/12 - 5/10/12 2 adults) I see these 3 Hotels on Hotwire. I have no idea which hotel the 4-star below is(hopefully you may be able to identify), but from my research, the 5-star North may be the WYNN and the 5-star South the ARIA. Again, I really appreciate your help!

Best guess for each of the above:

4* Strip South

Tropicana

5* Strip South

Aria

5* Strip North

Trump

If you decide to try PRICELINE, either Strip North or Strip South will be fine... but not Strip North Condo.

To try for a 5* thru PRICELINE i would bid as follows:

At the 5* level in Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Strip North and Strip South...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Between North and South, is there one that is a preferable location?

It's personal preference as to which part of the Strip you like better, but being your first time in Vegas, you don't yet have a favorite ;)

Between Trump & Aria, is one a preferable property?

Aria... as it is better located. The Trump is in PRICELINE's Strip North Condo zone which you shouldn't be including in your bids.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
