Hotwire Hotel: 4* San Juan Humacao Area ..."# Bookings in last 24 hrs"

General question for those with more Hotwire experience than I.

Hoping to get a specific hotel in San Juan (El Conquistador) in April.

There is a listing in March for a hotel which exactly matches the amenities and other items confirmed by other users to be this hotet, including 95% recommend rating. Above the listing it shows "20 bookings in the last 24 hours". Looking further out into April at my target dates, there is a different amenities description for a 4* hotel in the Humacao area which seems inconsistent with the typical ones reported for El Con and it shows a 90% recommend rating (not 95%). At first I assumed that this was probably a different hotel based on the amenities and recommend %-age differences, but this listing still says "20 bookings in the last 24 hours" above it.

So: does this "20 bookings in last 24 hours" imply that this is the exact same hotel as the one in March (even though amenities and recommend %-age is listed differently) -or- does this mean nothing?

I'm not a hotwire expert, but I think I'd trust the listed amenities, before I'd trust the # booked. I'm watching for April, too. I think we just have to be patient. If it's finally showing up for March, we might just have to wait another month.

Islander1, I think I see the El Con for April now. Whatever hotel this is has a 95% approval rating. Check your dates. It's kind of expensive at $231 for 4/6. I decided to go with the Rio Mar at $97/night.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Yikes, agree that this looks like El Con and that the price a bit excessive for me. Been browsing the reviews on Rio Del Mar and the website and am quite happy with what I've seen...think this will be the right choice for me too. Enjoy your trip!
