Priceline Hotel: Hotwire Las Vegas March 16th-19th

I am wondering what hotels fit the billing when one starts to bid on Priceline for a 5 Star Strip North and South? I want to know if we know the possible hotels that have been won? Also wondering if the Trump is considered a Condo instead of Resort? If a person bids on a 5 Star North and then South Resort will I be guaranteed that I will get a hotel with a casino? Thanks in advance........

The second post in this Priceline-Nevada area is a list of hotels members have reported as wins. While the list is usually first, for Nevada the Las Vegas Checker is first.

On the list, you will note the Trump is in a "Condo" category, so possible to either aim for it or avoid it.

I think the Vdara is the one without a casino, but you'd best double check the list to be sure.

As of last report(s) the Trump is in PRICELINE's Strip North Condo zone, which is different than the Strip North zone.

As noted above, the Vdara is in the Strip South zone and they do not have a casino, although the Aria is just a few minute walk away.

If a Casino is a must have you could also consider HOTWIRE and purchase a property that is showing the Casino amenity.

Let us know if/how you'd like to move forward, as well as your target maximum bid and the dates of your stay, and we'll advise accordingly.

Thanks for your replies. The long and the short of it is this: I see that there is a recent win on Priceline for the Palazzo (strip North) for March 16-19th for $120. I am thinking of trying for this as well as I am going to be there on those exact dates. I am hoping that the fact that it is the same dates will help me. I know there are no guarantees on the same hotel or price; however, I wanted to make sure before starting that I can avoid the Trump. I would prefer any of the regular hotels I see that have been won in that area re: Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian....would be happy with any of those at similar or same price. When I go into Priceline and denote a Strip Resort they have notations that show that those properties have a casino. Am I guaranteed this or could I end up getting Trump? I would like to avoid. If I don't click on Strip North Condo will that help me avoid this scenario?

If you look at today's detail maps of the individual Priceline zones, you can see Las Vegas Strip North just touches, but does not overlap Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North-Condo. If you map the Trump, it falls clearly in the Condo shaded area. Therefore, if you don't select the Condo zone, you can't receive the Trump. Today, with today's map.

The Trump web site has a map of its location, or you can put the address in Google or similar.

Thereuare did note "...as of last report" the Trump was in the Condo area. The issue is that Priceline changes the map boundaries from time to time, so it is always necessary to check current maps for issues such as this. Each time first, just before you bid, to be sure something hasn't changed. People have gotten bit by boundary shifts.

So - the answer to your question is "yes - today". Tomorrow you'll have to recheck those maps.

Price is $167.27.

Please change the currency drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.

Also, given that this is above the price you intend to bid on PRICELINE (i'm assuming, given i don't know what currency you're using above) will you be trying to bid on PRICELINE first anyway?

It would depend on the Hotel that I have given you on Hotwire. If it is something that I would like to stay in like the Cosmopolitan or the Aria then I might just pay the extra to get something that I have a good feeling that I will get.....So I will make a decision once you can hopefully help me identify this hotel....

And the price is $164 in US dollars.....I was using Canadian currency originally....

The amenities of the HOTWIRE hotel above match previous reports for the Aria so that would be my best guess for this one.

I am ready to bid on PRICELINE; however, when I looked at the map today it appeared (to me) that the strip north condo zone and the strip north zone were merged as one. Is this correct? Can somebody confirm? I don't want the Trump when I bid on a strip North 5 star. I will hit re bid zones that don't have a 5 Star and adjust my bids accordingly. But again, don't want Trump. I need to be careful as I am bidding on three rooms and the fate of some friends lies in my hands.....

Craig - you have to click the blue "detail map" (on the Priceline bidding page) for both zones in question. The text AaronJB just posted for you shows them. The map with all the zones on it just doesn't show the detail clearly enough as those zone numbers hide what you need to see.

Then look at the street named "N Fashion Show Drive" on each of the two zone detail maps. You can see part of it in each of the two zones.

Then get the Trump web site and look at their map. You can see the Trump is clearly in the more western part of that street, and clearly in the "8 Las Vegas Strip North - Condo" shaded map area.

I really don't blame you for being so cautious. Especially when you will have to listen to your friends if you make a mistake.

If you want to be super cautious, you could bid just one room first?

Romelle

And do note, AaronJB did qualify his comments with "...at least when I searched just now". Although map boundary changes aren't really often, everybody is trying to make sure you check just before you bid.
