Priceline Hotel: No Success In Bidding

I am trying to bid for a 4* for the dates of 3/19/12 - 3/22/12 in the Financial District. I must stay in the Financial District and am willing to go $150. I tried to use the strategies for re-bid and adding the six zones for the past week with no offer acceptance. My last offer was for $151. I think I need to start over. A recommended bidding strategy would be greatly appreciated. Is March a popular month for San Francisco?

Hotwire by individual date is showing your last day a little higher than your first two. You could try bidding just the first two days at the 4* level and then try for a 3 1/2* your last day.

You could make cancelable back-up reservations, and then just keep trying regularly until the very end.

I will add that what appears to be the Hotel Vitale is offered for your dates at $188/nite, and it gets excellent reviews (4.5/5.0 on Tripadvisor) if you're able to stretch your budget a bit and if this would be worth the additional expense.

Lastminutetravel.com has the Hyatt Embarcadero for $165/nite. You could use that as a cancelable backup....can cancel 3 days before...while you continue bidding. They are also offering the Stanford Court on Nob Hill for $154/nite. It's just a short cable car/cab ride down California to the Financial District.
